About Hope Haven

Hope Haven of Northeast Georgia, Inc. is a private nonprofit corporation whose primary purpose is to provide services for individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in the Athens-Clarke and surrounding counties.

Organization

"Hope Haven believes in the uniqueness, worth, dignity, and right to self-determination of every individual. We strive to prepare, empower, and support individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to participate fully in the community."

This agency is privately governed by its own Board of Directors which is comprised of outstanding individuals within the community who are private citizens and constituent representatives recognized as leaders in their professions and within the business community.

President and Chair

The Board of Directors has been very involved in the growth and success of the agency to an extent that is far beyond what is typical.

The Board of Directors, among other things, holds annual fund raising events such as a golf tournament and a fashion show to help support operating costs, funds capital improvements and provides equipment and vehicles not funded by the state.

The Board of Directors also hosts an annual recognition banquet and funds some of the costs for some constituents to attend camp during the summer.
