Day Support is designed to assist individuals to improve upon and retain daily life skills.

Incorporating community activities, facility-based training, prevocational activities, and supported employment, Day Support enables individuals with developmental disabilities to become more integrated into the community.

Day Support focuses on three key elements:

1) Day Habilitation

Day Habilitation provides the skills needed to further an individual's ability to function independently at home and in the community.

"I have witnessed higher self-esteem and improved motivation through community exposure and integration and the competitive employment opportunities incorporated into the Day Support program."
-Alethia Abrams, Program Coordinator

Day Habilitation creates opportunities for those with disabilities to participate socially and physically in community activities.

2) Prevocational Training

Prevocational Training prepares an individual for paid or unpaid employment.

Focused on assisting individuals to attain habilitative skills, Prevocational Training teaches rule compliance, task completion, problem solving, safety, and social interaction skills appropriate for workplace settings.

3) Supported Employment

Designed for individuals who desire competitive employment, Supported Employment encourages active participation in community life. Hope Haven staff acts as a liaison between the individual and the employer to ensure the employment situation benefits both parties.

Within the Day Support program, individuals can choose the manner in which they participate.

Community based participation, focused on volunteer work or community activities, offers individuals the opportunity to participate in at least 30 hours per month.
